Hotel Baseler Hof - Hamburg

Right in the centre of Hamburg, situated between the Alster lake and the Planten un Blomen gardens, this hotel makes for the perfect base from which to explore Hamburg. In the evening, visit the hotel restaurant and wine bar Kleinhuis which offers over 40 wines and many varieties of coffees, teas and cakes. Dammtor railway station, the shopping streets and the CCH congress centre are all within walking distance. Upon arrival, you receive a 3-day ticket allowing you free travel on all public transport.

The hotel has over 10 conference and banquet rooms with space for up to 200 people. For receptions, there is space for up to 350 people in total.

The Staatsoper opera house and the Laeiszhalle concert hall are situated only a few minutes away from the hotel. There are also lots of theatres within walking distance, such as the Thalia Theatre and many smaller stages. Many museums are also very nearby. The Kunsthalle art hall, the Ethnology Museum and the Museum of Hamburg History are all just around the corner.

By train: Leave the train at the station Dammtor. Turn left towards the city. Cross the bridge and turn left at the foot of the escalator. Then, walking along the Esplanade, you will find the hotel on your right hand side. By plane: Take a taxi (20 min.) or the airport bus to Hauptbahnhof (main station). From there take the underground train (U-Bahn) to the stop Stephansplatz. Leave in direction Esplanade and follow the road. The hotel is on your right hand side.

The Kleinhuis restaurant combines the tradition of Hamburg coffee houses with wines and regional cuisine. The Kleinhuis has been decorated with items from the coffee museum of the Hamburg coffee merchant, Jens Burg. All varieties of coffee used are provided by this merchant and are hand ground. Sit back and relax with the newspapers and magazines on offer in the afternoon. Tea is provided by Darboven. Compliment both coffee and tea with delicious chocolates, freshly made cakes from the Kruschat confectionary in Elmshorn or home-made cakes from the Kleinhuis Patisserie. Dinner in the evening is prepared with the wine which is to accompany it in mind. The coffee on offer after dinner is also chosen to compliment the wine which was drunk during the meal.
